Quality Treatment

Hometown Dental Co is an experienced provider of whitening treatments.

Your general dentist’s number one priority is your health; however, your dental team also wants you to feel comfortable smiling confidently. It’s vital for a cosmetic dentist to make sure that your smile looks its very best.

Suppose you’re unhappy with the appearance of your teeth. In that case, you should know that modern cosmetic dentistry procedures can offer a solution for almost any flaw. Discuss your cosmetic goals with your dentist so that they can design a comprehensive dental care treatment plan for you!

At Hometown Dental, we provide several procedures, including:

  • Teeth whitening
  • Veneers
  • Cosmetic fillings
What is Teeth Whitening?

Whitening your teeth is one of the simplest and most cost-effective improvements you can make.

Drugstore whitening kits may be cheap and easy to find, but nothing beats a professional whitening service.

At Hometown Dental, we provide professional whitening that uses high-concentrated bleaching gels that are not available over the counter.

Take-Home Whitening

This is another effective way to whiten your teeth. However, you will play a more significant role in ensuring the best possible results. You may need several weeks to achieve your desired level of whiteness. First, a mold of your teeth is taken to make two thin, flexible plastic trays custom-made to fit your mouth. At home, the trays are filled with whitening gel and positioned over your top and bottom teeth. The trays are left to do their work, usually for about an hour at a time.

In-Office Whitening

This technique offers the fastest results with the most powerful whitening solutions available. Your gums and tooth-root surfaces are covered with a protective barrier to ensure ultimate safety. A thin plastic device called a retractor holds your lips and cheeks away from your teeth as a professional-strength hydrogen peroxide gel is applied. This gel permeates your teeth for about an hour. When removed, the results are immediate, and you’ll walk out with a brighter, whiter smile!

What are Porcelain Veneers?

When you see a movie star with perfect teeth, there’s a good chance that dental veneers were used to craft that smile! A veneer is a thin piece of either porcelain or composite resin that bonds to the front of your teeth. Veneers can be used to correct discolored teeth and crooked teeth and improve a tooth’s color, shape, length, or size.

Dental veneers usually require three trips to the cosmetic dentist – one for a consultation and two to make and apply the veneers. You can get one or several, depending on your cosmetic goals.

Talk to your dentist about the result that you are trying to achieve. During this appointment, your cosmetic dentist will examine your teeth to make sure dental veneers are right for you and discuss the procedure and some of its limits.

What are Cosmetic Fillings?

If you need a filling, two primary materials are used to do the job – amalgam or composite resin. Both are safe to use and very effective, but the difference is the cosmetic result. Amalgam is a traditional metal filling that looks like a silver or gray spot against the white of your tooth. Composite resin fillings, in comparison, are tooth-colored and can be created to match the shade of your natural teeth exactly.

Composite resin fillings are generally recommended for teeth that are highly visible or in your mouth. Do you have existing amalgam fillings? You may want to consider replacing them with composite resin for a more natural look, especially if they are leaking or causing other problems.

Composite resin can also be used in a process called dental bonding. Your dentist will apply the material in a putty-like state to the surface of your tooth to give it the perfect shape. The material hardens, and then your dentist trims and polishes it further to make it look flawless.
